iOS and Android receive the square icons and apply their own mask; the rounding above mainly affects the web favicons.

Frequently asked questions
What is a favicon and what is it for?
A favicon is the small icon that shows up in the browser tab, in bookmarks and in search results. It helps people recognize your site at a glance and gives it a more professional look.
What icon sizes do I need for iOS and Android?
For iOS you need an AppIcon.appiconset with up to 18 sizes (from 20 to 1024 px). For Android you need the mipmap icons by density (48 to 192 px) plus the 108 dp adaptive icons. AppIconGen generates them all automatically.
Is it free and do I need to sign up?
It's 100% free and no sign-up is required. All the processing happens in your browser: upload your image, tweak it and download the ZIP.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. AppIconGen runs entirely on your device using the Canvas API. Your image never leaves your browser, so it's private and fast.
What image should I upload for the best result?
Ideally a square image of at least 512×512 px (1024×1024 is even better), as a PNG with a transparent background or an SVG. The larger it is, the sharper your big icons will be.
How do I use the files I download?
The ZIP is sorted into folders: 'web' for your site (with the HTML snippet), 'ios' to drag into Xcode, and 'android' to drop into res/. Each folder includes a usage guide.
